The main post office building (Belor. Glavpochtampt) is a monument of unique Stalin Empire architecture and is located at the beginning of the central avenue (Independence Avenue), next to Independence Square. The construction by architect Vladimir Karol took 4 years (1949–1953). It is also one of the first buildings that grew on the ruins after World War II.
