Resurrection Church

Resurrection Church

For the first time the wooden Orthodox Resurrection Church was mentioned in 1558. It is often called Market Church, as it was situated on the market square.

The church is a single-nave temple in the style of Vilna baroque.

There is a legend that the temple was so beautiful that even Napoleon Bonaparte himself during the occupation of Vitebsk did not dare to touch it, but ordered to place a hospital in this building.
