St. Sophia Cathedral in the ancient city of Polotsk is a unique church of Orthodox shrines in Europe, one of the earliest in Ancient Russia and the first stone church in Belarus. The magnificent structure was erected by Byzantine masters in 1044-1066.
This landmark of Belarus is presented in the preliminary UNESCO World Heritage List. During April and November, in the concert hall of Sofia Cathedral, festivals of old and modern chamber and organ music are held, the most famous of which is «Zvany Safіi». Note that every Sunday you can visit concerts of organ music.
