The city of Turov is known from the Tale of Bygone Years since 980 and was once considered as the capital of ancient tribes. At the very beginning of the second millennium, a Christian diocese was founded here, as well as the most ancient book in Belarus – Turov’s Gospel of 11th century.
During 12-13 centuries, the city was the capital of Turov principality and was called the «Second Jerusalem». Now on Ancient settlement of Turov, you can see such historical objects as Castle mountain, temple foundation of 12th century, museum of archeology and monument to Cyril of Turov.
