Vitebsk Art museum was opened in 1992 in a building, that is an architectural monument of XIX century. On the territory of more than 850 m² there are more than 8,000 art objects, including painting, graphics and sculpture.
New exhibitions are opened every month, but permanent collections remain: Belarusian art of the 18th – mid-19th centuries, a collection of Russian painting and decorative art of the 18th – early 20th centuries, a collection of works by Yudel Pen, paintings by Vitebsk artists of 1960-1980.
