Kolozha Church

Borisoglebsk Church, Kolozhskaya Church or simply Kolozha is one of the survived architectural structures of Belarus from the period of Ancient Russia, built in 1140-1170. It is also the only survived (in a distorted form) monument of Black Russian architecture.

The architectural features of the church include a lot of ceramic vessels-vocabulary, built into the arches of the walls and outgoing necks, thanks to which acoustics is remarkable, decoration of facades and walls with inlays of large polished stones and unique murals.

The church is among the sites proposed by the Government of Belarus as candidates for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
