Lida Castle is a unique monument of defensive architecture. The construction of the castle begun in 1323 by the Grand Duke of Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
During its history, the castle has withstood many battles and only in XVIII century, it has lost the strategic importance and began to collapse gradually.
Today, part of the castle is under restoration, but it is a popular place for knight tournaments, music festivals and ice skating.
